Program Description

The Transition Incentive Program (TIP) provides annual payments for an additional two years beyond the expiration of a CRP contract to participants who sell their land to a beginning or socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher.

General Program Requirements

To be eligible for TIP, an owner must be a retired or retiring farmer or rancher on land enrolled in an expiring CRP contract. The owner must agree to sell, or agree to lease long-term the land enrolled in an expiring CRP contract to a beginning or socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher.
