How to Comment on a Proposed Waiver

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) values suggestions from the public during the federal review process for waiver applications. During the federal waiver review process, the public and stakeholders can submit comments on the proposed waiver during open public comment period.

CMS will announce the start date of the comment period for each waiver application. CMS will also email interested parties to let them know when the public comment period for a pending waiver application starts and ends. Join our mailing list if you’d like to get these announcements.

To comment on a pending waiver during the open public comment period, go to the specific pending waiver and follow the instructions to leave a comment.

Due to the high volume of comments, CMS is unable to respond to every individual comment. CMS will post public comments and provide responses as needed.
