Quality of Care Dental Care

CMS launched an oral health initiative in April 2011 to improve awareness of the importance of, and children’s access to dental services which are included as part of Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment for children in Medicaid, and became mandatory for children in CHIP through CHIPRA in 2010. CMS prepared an Oral Health Strategy to guide efforts with states to improve access to oral health services for children enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance program.  This guide will continue to evolve into a formal strategy that will be made publicly available. See more information on dental care.

In addition, CHIPRA required CMS to make available a listing of all participating dental providers in Medicaid and CHIP to be posted on www.InsureKidsNow.Gov.
