Deputy to the Garrison Commander

U.S. Army Garrison Casey

 

Mr. Raymond S. Myers assumed the duties as Deputy to the Garrison Commander, United States Army Garrison Casey, on 17 June 2012. He is responsible for installation management programs and services in the U.S. Army Garrison Casey and Western Corridor Communities.

He hails from a small town in Northern Maryland and proudly served in the U.S. Army from August 1984 to October 2007. He entered the U.S. Army on 20 August 1984 and completed basic and advanced individual training at Fort McClellan, Alabama and served in various leadership and staff positions throughout his career at the Company thru Army levels. His subsequent military assignments included Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Fort Benning, Georgia, Joint Task Force Bravo, Soto Cano Airbase, Honduras, the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and four tours of various lengths on the Korea Peninsula (Camp Red Cloud, Camp Humphreys, Camp's Henry & Walker and Camp Hialeah).

 

Mr. Myers retired in 2007 and began his civil service career as the Director of Emergency Services where he established the first DES in U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud's history, successfully synchronizing Fire, Law Enforcement, Physical Security, and Contract Guard services. In 2009 he was promoted to the Director of Plans, Analysis & Integration Office where he oversaw strategy and management planning for the installation to include its performance excellence program, which for the first time in the Garrisons history was recognized as a FY12 Army Communities of Excellence (ACOE) Award Winner. Prior his current assignment, Mr. Myers served as Deputy to the Garrison Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I.

 

Mr. Myers has a Graduate Certificate in Cost Management from the Naval Post Graduate School and a Bachelors of Science in Sociology from the University of Upper Iowa. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Public Administration.

 

Throughout his 28-plus years of service with the U.S. Army, he has attended many Army schools and has several Army awards. Those awards include the Commander's Award for Civilian Service and Superior Civilian Service Award. Mr. Myers was also honored as a People to People International Recipient in 2008.
