Important Notice for Alcohol and Tobacco Excise Tax Returns Filers

A new TTB Excise Tax return (TTB F 5000.24) is now available. TTB's National Revenue Center (NRC) will be mailing a copy of the new return pre-printed with key business information to every excise taxpayer on record. Before using the return, please make additional copies for your continued use during the year. Also included in the mailing is an explanation of the Requirements for Paying Federal Excise Tax by electronic Fund Transfer and a Penalty Information Sheet.
Tax Return Information
The new excise tax return has 2 items of great importance.
- If you pay by check, please notice the paper check conversion statement at the bottom of the form.
- THERE IS A NEW MAILING ADDRESS FOR FILING FORMS! Please be sure to address any returns mail after September 12, 2007 to the new address in St. Louis, Missouri.
Electronic Filing of Excise Tax Returns
Are you aware that you can use Pay.Gov, a government-wide financial transaction portal, to file your operational reports and excise tax returns on line? See our Pay.gov page for additional information and instructions. This is TTB's preferred filing method.
Current Pay.gov participants may continue to file their operational reports and Excise Tax Returns and make online payments using Pay.Gov.
2008 Excise Tax Due Dates Schedule
The Excise Tax Due Date Schedule for 2008 is not available at this time. You may check our Tax Due Date Schedule in late December for a list of the due dates. If you need a schedule mailed to you, contact us at 1-877-882-3277.
