CER Priority Setting Groups and Reports
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (Public Law 111-148) established a non-profit institute, the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), to help people make informed health care decisions and improve health care delivery. PCORI will commission research that is guided by patients, caregivers and the broader health care community and will produce high integrity, evidence-based information.

Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research
The Council made recommendations for the $400 million allocated to the Office of the Secretary for CER, in its Report to the President Congress. This Committee was dissolved after release of their report. A new advisory group is currently being formed in its place.
Institute of Medicine (IOM)
The IOM was tasked by Congress through ARRA to recommend national priorities for research questions to be addressed by CER and supported by ARRA funds.
NIH CER Coordinating Committee
Provides advice to the NIH Director on the best use of the CER stimulus funds, implementation of CER rules and definitions, etc.
