We’ve all seen effective youth workers in action. They’re able to make meaningful connections and relate to young people in ways that make them feel understood and valued. What is it that makes these youth workers so successful?

In our new video series, we asked youth workers for the answer. Together, they make a powerful argument for selflessness, open-mindedness and other personal qualities that can help youth workers make a difference in the lives of young people in their programs.

In the latest video, Deborah Davis-Kinchen from Anchor House in Trenton, N.J., says youth workers need to be nurturing and committed to helping young people who can't help themselves.
