Facilitation skills have become a core competency for effective workplace leaders. Whether you are a manager, union representative, supervisor, HR professional or team leader this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to facilitate group activities. If you want meetings that are both productive and time efficient this highly-interactive class is for you. Experienced Federal Mediators will serve as your coaches as you learn and practice the techniques needed to enable groups to reach appropriate and positive outcomes.
The FMCS Institute’s dynamic five-day Facilitation course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to:
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of a facilitator Use agendas and ground rules to manage time effectively
- Build consensus and deal with resistance
- Recognize group dynamics and group member roles Intervene using creative techniques
- Use group problem-solving processes
- Identify your own facilitation strengths and developmental needs.
Course participants will be exposed to a wide range of facilitation styles, observe effective facilitation techniques, and practice facilitation skills in guided simulations.
To assure hands-on practice the class size will be limited. Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a FMCS certificate of course completion.
