Cable Management - Inter/Intra Building Connectivity

Inter/Intra Building Connectivity provides Voice, Wide Area Network (WAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), and Local Area Network (LAN) connectivity via the Copper and Fiber Optic backbone systems to support the NIH IT Infrastructure to include Horizontal cabling. These Systems connect NIH locations on and off the Bethesda Campus.

Customer Benefits

Inter/Intra Building Connectivity provides to off-Campus NIH Staff an “on-Campus” quality of connectivity to access the Voice, WAN, MAN and, LAN NIH Systems.  Inter/Intra Building Connectivity provides on-Campus NIH Staff a building to building, floor to floor connectivity allowing access to a variety of integrated onsite Voice and Data systems as well as access to the NIH Voice, LAN, MAN, and WAN systems.

Q:  How do I acquire Inter/Intra Building Connectivity?

 
A:   Have your Administrative Office put a (TSR) http://tsr.cit.nih.gov/ which will create  a Remedy Ticket in the system to get a Telecom Specialist assigned to your request.
 
Q:  When and why would I need this service?
 
A:   You will need this service for any new major renovation project, new building construction project, additional bandwidth requirement, and/or new off-campus occupancy.
 
Q:  How much will it cost?
 
A:  Cost will vary depending on your requirements.  The telecom specialist assigned to your request will work with you to provide you with an estimate/cost.
