Program Description
The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is a highly competitive, merit-based award offered to college juniors and seniors preparing for a career in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering. To be considered, a student must be nominated by his or her college or university using the official nomination materials provided to each institution.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a U.S. national, citizen, or legal alien who is a current or prospective student in mathematics, natural sciences or engineering; and has been accepted or are enrolled in an accredited degree program, college or university.

Students cannot apply directly for Barry M. Goldwater Scholarships
but must be nominated by a faculty representative from their college or
university. Each institution may nominate a limited number of students. You
can identify your school's Faculty Representative through the "Faculty
