Staff Fellow, Mouse Model Systems for Hepatitis Viruses

FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation & Research, Office of Vaccines Research and Review, seeks a Staff Fellow within the Laboratory of Hepatitis Viruses (LHV) to perform novel research using mouse model systems to support the replication of hepatitis viruses. The LHV is actively engaged in research on the molecular biology of hepatitis viruses, specializing in hepatitis C virus vaccine studies. In addition to laboratory research, the candidate will perform regulatory review (e.g., product chemistry, manufacturing and control, validation and review of clinical protocols) of licensed and experimental hepatitis virus vaccines.

Qualifications:

Eligible individuals must be U.S. citizens or non-U.S. citizens holding a valid U.S. employment visa; must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree (e.g., MD, VMD, or Sc.D) plus no less than 2 years of post-doctoral experience. The candidate will have research experience in virology, molecular virology, cell biology, or immunology. Experience with hepatitis C virus is preferred but not required.

Location:

The position will initially be located on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD with relocation to the FDA White Oak campus, Silver Spring, MD in mid-2014.
