Program Overview

The Independent Scientist in Global Health Award fosters the development of outstanding independent scientists and enables them to expand their potential to make significant impact on the health related research needs of developing countries. This award provides three, four or five years of salary and some research support. This award is similar to other NIH K02 career development awards, but requires grantees to spend 50 percent of the grant period conducting research in developing countries.
