December 12, 2012: Bill Requiring Accessible Payment Systems in NYC Taxis Signed
"Lighthouse joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg as he signed Intro 599, a bill championed by Lighthouse and unanimously passed by the New York City Council, that requires an accessible payment system for people who are blind and visually impaired in all New York City Taxicabs.
October 4, 2012: New York's WLIW21 To Air "Going Blind" Documentary Featuring Lighthouse Low Vision Team
"Going Blind: Coming out of the Dark about Vision Loss" a documentary on the experience of coping with diminishing sight, begins airing on public television stations across the country this month in recognition of October's World Blindness Awareness Month, and National Disability Awareness Month.
