Closing of Government Departments and Agencies on December 24, 2012

Washington, DC — December 21, 2012. Earlier today, the President signed Executive Order 13633, declaring that:

All executive branch departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed and their employees excused from duty on Monday, December 24, 2012, the day before Christmas Day…

Accordingly, the Federal Register will not be published on December, 24, 2012. Documents that were originally scheduled to be published in the December 24 issue, will appear in the issue of December 26, 2012.

The Electronic Public Inspection Desk is also affected by this action. We filed the President’s order at 4:15 p.m. today along with a set of documents that would have been placed on file on Monday, before the unexpected holiday was granted by the President.  As a result, our online Public Inspection service now gives you a preview of documents that will be published on Wednesday, December 26.
