The PHMSA Small Business program ensures that socioeconomic business policies and goals of the Secretary of Transportation are implemented in a fair, efficient, and effective manner. 

PHMSA recognizes the impact small businesses have on our economy, and remain committed to exceeding benchmarks set for the agency and for the DOT by the Small Business Association. The DOT has received an "A" grade on its annual SBA scorecard, an assessment tool that measures how well federal agencies reach their small business and contracting goals, for two years in a row.
