This research compares two groups of children from Quito, Ecuador (n=104/each group), one of children whose parents had migrated to Spain and other countries such as the United States and Italy and the other of children who live with their parents. The study found differences in the drug behavior and psychiatric pathology, such as depression, of the two groups. The pathological behavior was exhibited 12 times more frequently in the migration group and 20 times more frequently among females.
