Biography

Christopher Scully is a graduate student in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). He received his B.S. in electromechanical engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2008, and a Master's degree in biomedical engineering from Stony Brook University in 2009. As a participant in the NIH Graduate Partnerships Program, he is currently performing Ph.D. research in a collaborative project between Dr. Ki Chon at WPI and Dr. Alexander M. Gorbach at the NIBIB. Using a combination of optical imaging tools, including infrared and laser-speckle, and signal processing techniques, Mr. Scully is currently researching blood flow and skin temperature fluctuations in humans. His primary interest is the use of linear and non-linear signal processing in investigations of physiology in both healthy and disease states.
