Resources for Scientists

NIEHS has several resources available to researchers, both inside and outside of the Institute.

  • Bioethics

The Bioethics Program is a part of the NIEHS' Ethics Program that provides educational, scholarly, and administrative support for research integrity at the NIEHS.

  • Bisphenol A-related Journal Articles and Stories

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical produced in large quantities for use primarily in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. The NIEHS has been collection a lot of press releases, fact sheets, papers etc on BPA research.

  • Classroom Activities for Scientists

Classroom Activities for Scientists: Find simple strategies and activities that you can use effectively to communicate complex ideas on environmental health science to students.

  • Collaborative Research Programs

The Collaborative Research Programs page contains information about the NIEHS-sponsored initiatives that bring together scientists and expertise from public, private, state and other federal institutions.

  • Databases

The Databases page contains items that are important tools in the field of environmental science, such as the Biomarkers of Oxidative Stress Study (BOSS), the Microarray Center cDNA Clone Search and more.

  • Digitized Atlas of Mouse Liver Lesions

The Digitized Atlas of Mouse Liver Lesions page contains both search by subject and search by pathology.

  • Electron Paramagnetic Resonance/Electron Spin Resonance (EPR/ESR)

The Electron Paramagnetic Resonance/Electron Spin Resonance (EPR/ESR) page is a resource for scientists studying the involvement of free radicals in pathological disease.

  • EHP cover imageEnvironmental Health Perspectives

Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP) (http://www.ehponline.org) is the journal of the NIEHS and serves as a forum for the discussion of the interrelationships between the environment and human health. It publishes peer-reviewed research and the most current and credible news of the field.

  • Library & Information Services Branch

The NIEHS Library & Information Services Branch (LISB) plays a vital role within the NIEHS research community by managing information and knowledge about environmental health.

  • NIEHS Bioethics

The NIEHS Bioethics Office, led by David B. Resnick, J.D., Ph.D., works with the NIEHS Institutional Review Board, the Office of Clinical Research, the Office of the Director and the NIEHS Division of Extramural Research to help develop institutional policies that promote research integrity and compliance with federal research policies and regulations.

  • NTP Data Downloads

Have you ever wanted to combine NTP study data with your research? With the NTP Data Downloads web page  , you can bring NTP data to your desktop by downloading a few files. Summary data on all NTP chemicals can be downloaded in a single file. If you would like more detailed data, you can download an individual study type. Currently, CHO Cell Cytogenesis, Drosophila, Micronucleus, Mouse Lymphoma, Rodent Cytogenetics, and Salmonella study types are the study types available for detailed data downloads.

  • Seminars, Conferences & Symposia

The Seminars, Conferences & Symposia page has links to all of the events held at NIEHS as well as supporting materials such as videos or meeting reports.

  • Software

NIEHS Software ("/Rhythmyx/assembler/render?sys_contentid=35926&sys_revision=4&sys_variantid=1169&sys_context=0&sys_authtype=0&sys_siteid=&sys_folderid=" sys_dependentvariantid="1169" sys_dependentid="35926" inlinetype="rxhyperlink" rxinlineslot="103" sys_dependentid="35926" sys_siteid="" sys_folderid="") was written by scientists within the Institute and is available to the public at no cost.
