The School of Public Health at Saint Louis University was founded in 1991 as a central step in the University's commitment to the provision of population-based education that prepares students for careers in health services, health policy, and disease prevention. The School holds the distinction of being the only accredited school of public health in Missouri and the only accredited school of public health in a United States Catholic university. Significantly, the school has long recognized the importance of establishing strong ties between the School and professionals in practice throughout the community, state and nation. Since 2005, Saint Louis University School of Public Health has engaged in innovative efforts to enhance its leadership role and activities in translation and dissemination of new knowledge in public health and health care. This ongoing strategic process has the goal of focusing the School's mission and strong collaboration with the practice community. |
