Notification of Foreign Travel for NIH Staff

The Notification for Foreign Travel (NFT) system is now part of the GovTrip system.  This mandatory step in all foreign travel must be completed before the trip can be officially approved.

Personal Security Training for Persons Traveling Abroad

• Travel Less than 30 Days - Each person traveling abroad for less than 30 days on behalf of the NIH (no matter one’s affiliation with the NIH) must go through a travel security briefing. 
• Travel 30 Days or More - Those persons who perform extended temporary duty overseas for a period of 30 days or more must complete mandatory in-person personal security training prior to travel.

NIH Travel Planner Training

Fogarty holds training sessions for new and experienced NIH Travel Planners on Notifications of Foreign Travel (NFTs), official passports, and visas.
