Rocky Mountain Region Overview

The Rocky Mountain Regional Office (RMRO) is under the direction of the Regional Director, who is responsible to the Director, Bureau of Indian Affairs, through the Deputy Bureau Director, Field Operations. The Regional Director represents the RMRO in dealing with other governmental and tribal entities. The RMRO’s mission is to provide services to American Indian Tribes, Individual American Indians and other Agencies, effectively managing and protecting the Trust Resources, enhancing the quality of life and supporting Tribal Sovereignty, while actively promoting Self-Determination, and Economic Development opportunities.
