Reissuance of Funding Opportunity Announcements for Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) reissued two Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant applications.
The SBIR and STTR Programs are the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) engine of innovation for developing and commercializing novel technologies and products to better prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer while enhancing cancer research and control. NCI's SBIR and STTR Programs offer funding for therapeutic agents and devices, in vitro diagnostics, imaging, cancer prevention, cancer biology, cancer control and epidemiology, digital health, and many more areas of interest to the NCI. View more Institute-specific information here. For additional information on high priority technology areas, events, and programmatic initiatives, visit the NCI SBIR homepage.
Generally, NCI does not fund Phase I applications greater than $225,000 total costs or project periods greater than two years. For Phase II applications, NCI does not generally fund applications greater than $1,500,000 total costs or project periods greater than three years.
The 2013 application submission dates are April 5, August 5, and December 5. Submission dates for AIDS/AIDS-related research are May 7 and September 7, 2012 and January 7, 2014.
