CDC's Second Nutrition Report - (2012)

CDC released its Second Nutrition Report on Biochemical Indicators of Diet and Nutrition in the U.S. Population. CDC's Second Nutrition Report covers 58 biochemical indicators and shows us what the actual levels of nutrition indicators are in the general population. CDC's Division of Laboratory Sciences measured these indicators in blood and urine samples collected from participants in CDC's National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). The report gives nutritionists, clinicians, and public health officials access to critical nutrition data and can be used to assess rates of inadequate or excess intake in the U.S. population and population subgroups. Access the report and executive summary online to learn more!

Also of special significance, infants and young children are more likely than older children and adults to develop life-threatening forms of TB disease (e.g., disseminated TB, TB meningitis).
