Eligibility

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

    • Applications are open to those who have received a Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree within the past five years.
    • See full eligibility information for the U.S. Core Fulbright Scholar Program.
    • Applicants correspond with the host site and its U.S. partner contacts about their experience and how they could participate with ongoing research projects at the sites.
    • A letter of invitation from the host site is required to be submitted with the application.
    • Each site is a registered organization in the host country and has a U.S. university as a partner.
    • U.S. scholars from any institution can apply.

Program Overview

Fogarty has partnered with the Fulbright Program, the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, to promote the expansion of research in public health and clinical research in resource-limited settings for both medical or graduate student fellows and postdoctoral scholars.

Fellows

Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowships inaugurated in July 2011 with fellows in sub-Saharan Africa, and expanded to include countries in Asia and Latin America in subsequent years.
