75-Day Leave Carry-Over Policy Extended
The 2010 law that allowed Sailors to carry over up to 75 days of leave has been extended to Sept. 30, 2015, per NAVADMIN 026/13, released Feb. 13. Afterward, leave carryover will be reset to 60 days and any leave balance in excess of 60 days will be lost.

NFAAS Information Needs to be Updated Semiannually
The Navy's semiannual Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) verification is underway requiring all Navy personnel to verify and update their personal contact information in NFAAS by March 31.

Reservists Tapped for RDC Positions
Recruit Training Command (RTC) announced Feb. 7 it has opened Recruit Division Commander (RDC) positions to Reserve Sailors for the first time. Reservists accepted to go through RDC C School can serve between 18 to 36 months. Prior to being considered for duty at RTC, Sailors are extensively screened and recommended for duty by their current commanding officer.

Verify Personal Awards
NAVADMIN 016/13 outlines the steps Sailors should take to verify their awards are accurately reflected in the Navy Department Awards Web Service (NDAWS) and their Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). All personal awards, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and higher, should be showing in a service member's record. For more information read NAVADMIN 016/13 at www.npc.navy.mil.

Navy Announces Conversion Opportunities to Navy Counselor
The Navy is seeking motivated first and second class petty officers with career counselor experience to consider applying for a rating conversion to Navy Counselor (NC). Complete eligibility and application guidance is outlined in MILPERSMAN 1440-020 available from the Navy Personnel Command web site at www.npc.navy.mil.

2013 Naval Leader Planning Guide and Weekly Planner Available
The 2013 Naval Leader Planning Guide and the Naval Leader Weekly Planner are available on Navy Knowledge Online for download and local printing. Users can also download a file that can be imported into Microsoft Outlook that will populate personal calendars with dates found in the product. To download, log on to www.nko.navy.mil and select the Leadership tab.
