Overview:

Antiviral medications with activity against influenza viruses are an important adjunct to influenza vaccine in the prevention and treatment of influenza. During this COCA call, a CDC subject matter expert will discuss the 2010 Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommendations for the use of antiviral medications for the prevention and control of influenza.  The discussion will include information on treatment and chemoprophylaxis of influenza virus infection, and provide a summary of the effectiveness and safety of antiviral treatment medications.
