This WWI poster, circa 1917-1918, was created by the American illustrator Haskell Coffin (1878-1941.) The artist was famous for his portrayal of the American beauty. In the early 1900s, his work graced the covers of popular magazines as The Saturday Evening Post, Redbook, The American, Metropolitan, McCall’s. The ‘Coffin girl’ was on calendars, note cards, sheet music, fashion catalogs, gift boxes. Joan of Arc Saved France was one of his well-known creations. It is currently on display in the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts.
