Advising the NCI Director from the Consumer Advocate Perspective. Increasing Consumer Involvement in NCI.
Welcome to the DCLG

The NCI Director’s Consumer Liaison Group is a Federal Advisory Committee comprised of advocate leaders, chosen for their expert understanding of the perspectives and dynamics of the cancer research community. The DCLG identifies and responds to issues and challenges facing the Institute at the request of the Director. The DCLG provides relevant, non-scientific skills and perspectives in order to improve research outcomes by identifying new approaches, promoting innovation, recognizing unforeseen risks or barriers, and identifying unintended consequences that could result from NCI decisions. Attend a DCLG meeting to see how the DCLG is involved in these areas!
In a video message during the July 2010 meeting of the DCLG in Seattle, Washington, NCI Director Dr. Harold Varmus outlines opportunities for the advocacy community to engage in cancer research.
