The Public Health Informatics Institute, with funding from the de Beaumont Foundation, created the Public Health Informatics Academy to provide public health managers with hands-on skills in key informatics competencies. In the Academy, public health practitioners learn about the policies and technologies that are driving the transition to e-public health, as well as the principles and best practices for managing an informatics project. Practitioners also learn how to better understand the work they do, so they can develop requirements for information systems that support that work.
