2012 Suspension and Debarment Workshop
On behalf of the Suspension and Debarment Working Group of the Council of Inspectors General for
Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) and the Interagency Suspension and Debarment Committee (ISDC),
we welcome you to the 2012 Suspension and Debarment Workshop at the U.S. Patent and
Trademark Office Conference Center in Alexandria, Virginia on November 16, 2012.
Suspension and debarment are valuable administrative tools that agencies can use to protect scarce funds from fraud, waste, abuse,
poor performance, and noncompliance with contract provisions or applicable law. This year’s event will focus on fact-based suspension and debarment
actions (those that are not based on a judicial finding) and will consist of panels of experts who will discuss various topics, such as
evidentiary standards and actions that arise from audit findings. The program is designed to provide stimulating interaction between
key communities involved in the suspension and debarment process: Suspension and Debarment Officials, Offices of Inspectors General,
and the U.S. Department of Justice.
