ENACCT Webinar, "What Does Informed Consent Look Like in a Health Literate Organization"

In 2012 the IOM published a discussion paper, "Ten Attributes of Health Literate Health Care Organizations."  This webinar will discuss how adopting the health literate attributes pertaining to leadership, measurement, and training can improve the informed consent process. This Webinar will also cover the importance of taking health literacy universal precautions, and provide examples of strategies and simplified forms from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Informed Consent and Authorization Toolkit for Minimal Risk Research.

The objectives of this webinar, which will take place February 20th from 2 to 3:30 pm ET, are to :

  • Describe the attributes of health literate health care organizations
  • discuss the implications of being health literat on obtaining informed consent
  • describe strategies and tools for making the consent process more heath literate
