Deputy Director Dr. Mary Kerr (2nd from r) during an outreach visit
to Alaska in October 2008 with members of the NIH Office of Equal
Opportunity and Diversity Management and the NIDDK Office of Minority
Health Research Coordination. The NIH representatives met with
state government and university officials, health care professionals
and students, and members of the Alaska Native/American Indian
(AN/AI) community to provide information about NIH research and
training opportunities and to learn about the health conditions
and needs of the AN/AI population.
