NHLBI: National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) graphic

National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP)
A program that addresses the growing problem of asthma in the United States. Goal is to enhance the quality of life for patients with asthma and decrease asthma-related morbidity and mortality. The NAEPP established the National Asthma Campaign Initiative (NACI) to bring together organizations from local, State, regional, and national levels—to share best practices, pool and direct resources, and identify new directions and learning opportunities, in order to improve asthma control.

An initiative of the National Kidney Disease Education Program that raises awareness among at-risk communities about the connection between diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease and the importance of screening for kidney disease.  The Family Reunion Initiative encourages African American families to incorporate kidney health into their family reunion agendas and Kidney Sundays encourages African-American faith-based organizations to include kidney health messages in programs and events.
