Mission Statement

The Office of Family Planning (OFP) assists in making comprehensive voluntary family planning services readily available to all persons desiring such services and coordinates domestic population and family planning research with the present and future needs of family planning programs. The OFP provides analysis, policy advice, and administrative leadership on topics related to family planning and population research, such as reproductive health, unintended pregnancy, and contraceptive technology; and provides information dissemination and liaison with other agencies in areas of domestic and international population and family planning research and programs. OFP administers the Family Planning Program that provides grants for comprehensive family planning services including contraceptive services, infertility services, and basic gynecologic care and screening which can detect health problems such as cervical cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, and breast cancer.
