USCIS: Application Status and Processing Times
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) publishes the average processing time for each type of application or petition ("case") at each of its field offices and service centers. USCIS processes cases in the order received.
To get status information on your case:
- Check the processing time for your type of case
- Use the information found on your USCIS receipt to check the status of your case:
- Online: Enter your application receipt number
- United States: Call 1.800.375.5283; for TTY dial 1.800.767.1833
- Abroad: Contact the nearest USCIS international office, or a U.S. Embassy or Consulate
