Middle East and North Africa

FDA’s bilateral and multilateral interactions with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa are intended to strengthen the regulatory infrastructure, preventive controls, and production practices in the region to help ensure that products exported from these countries FDA's our standards for import into the U.S. as well as to improve information exchanges for better decision-making. FDA’s activities in the region include its product centers, and regulatory, industry, and academic groups in countries and other United States Government agencies in the region. FDA’s ultimate goal of improving the safety and quality of products imported into the U.S. is to improve the public health of populations both at home and abroad. Initiatives and activities by FDA in the Middle East and North Africa are designed to enhance the ability of our trading partners to meet FDA standards and the U.S. levels of protection for products exported to the U.S.
