FFIEC ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF
KEITH J. TODD
AS EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

Acting Comptroller of the Currency Julie L. Williams, Chairman of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, announced today the appointment of Keith J. Todd as Executive Secretary of the Council. Mr. Todd most recently served as the Council's Assistant Executive Secretary.

Mr. Todd's principal responsibilities will be to coordinate interagency staff task forces that have been established by the Examination Council and to direct the Council staff on behalf of the Council. The Council, established by Title X of the Financial Institutions Regulatory and Interest Rate Control Act of 1978, is charged with responsibility for prescribing uniform principles and standards for the federal examination of financial institutions and making recommendations to promote uniformity in the supervision of those financial institutions.

Mr. Todd joined the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council in 1987. He previously served as a commissioned bank examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from 1975 to 1987. Mr. Todd succeeds Joe M. Cleaver who has retired.
