Insurance Component National-Level Summary Tables

The national-level Insurance Component tables provide private sector data by firm size, industry group, census region and other characteristics; public sector data by state and local government type, government size, and census division; civilian estimates that incorporate both the private and state and local government sectors; national totals for enrollees and cost of health insurance coverage for both the private and public sectors.

Insurance Component estimates are available online in tabular form. You can also use the interactive query tools, MEPSnet, to access statistics and trends about health insurance. Read Technical Notes and Survey Documentation for details on the collection of insurance data.

Please note, in preparation for improvements in the data collection process, 2007 data for the Insurance Component was not collected.

MEPS employer-based health insurance tables are produced in the year following data collection. Private-sector tables are posted in July; government and civilian tables are posted in November.

  • No specific year should be included in the search field. To specify a year use the drop down menu.
  • Do not use double quotes ( " ).
