Support for Community and Public Education Enhancement Projects

The Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 to community-improvement and K-12 public-education projects. In 2011, the foundation is focusing on funding basic, one-time projects.

Funding priorities for community improvement initiatives include

  • enhancements to park, neighborhood and community facilities
  • outdoor learning programs
  • community clean-ups

Funding priorities for public education projects include

  • construction-related education initiatives
  • enhancements to playgrounds
  • clean-up, landscaping, and painting projects
  • minor repair of public school buildings

The foundation prefers to fund projects in communities with a Lowe's store or distribution center.
