The National Newborn Screening and Global Resource Center (NNSGRC) is an independent project affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). It was founded under a cooperative agreement with the US Health Resources and Services Administration in 1999.

Originally created as a focal point for national newborn screening and genetics activities in the US, the NNSGRC now serves as a resource for newborn screening information worldwide. The NNSGRC provides information and related resources to benefit many national and international newborn screening stakeholders including:

  • Health Professionals
  • Consumers
  • The Public Health Community
  • US and Other Government Officials
  • Healthcare and Other Policy Makers
  • Non-Government Organizations
