December 14, 2012

Washington, D.C. - Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, issued a statement following today's announcement by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that it has revised its National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for toxic soot, which will provide stronger public health protections.

Senator Boxer said: "EPA's science-based standard is an important step forward in safeguarding the health of the American people from the harmful impacts of dangerous air pollution."
