Office of the Director

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine is the focal point for complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) research at the National Institutes of Health. The NCCAM Office of the Director is responsible for

  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan.
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating the programs and activities of NCCAM, including research, training, education, and information dissemination efforts.
  • Providing guidance and policy to the offices and divisions of the Center regarding management, program planning, program coordination, and program evaluation.

The Office also initiates and oversees trans-agency CAM coordination and research efforts.
