Authentic Government Red Tape Paperweight
At last – a government term that means exactly what it says. Official United States documents were once bound with twill tape that had to be “cut through” to gain access.
The tape used in this unique product originated from archival documents, some as old as the Civil War, which are held at the National Archives in Washington D.C. Each one is assembled by hand and due to the age of the red tape, pigmentation may vary ensuring that no two paperweights are exactly the same.
Boxed. Made in U.S.A. Comes with a packet of non-skid feet, cleaning instructions, and an information card.
Tape has been color enhanced for aesthetic purposes.
Concept design by long-time NARA employee Tom Fortunato.
