Federal Government Archived Operating Status in the Washington, DC, Area

the following message applies only to October 1 through October 3, 1999

The U.S. Department of Commerce Herbert C. Hoover Building located at 14th and Constitution Avenue, NW, will be closed for normal business operations today (October 1, 1999) due to an electrical fire. Federal employees who work at this location are NOT expected to report to work today. Normal business operations will resume on Monday, October 4, 1999.
