CDC Mobile Texting PilotCDC Mobile Texting Pilot: In 2009 the CDC launched a text messaging campaign pilot. The inital focus was to provide H1N1 related information but has moved on to general health information. They have been actively collecting metrics and feedback about the project.
AIDS.govAIDS.gov provides access to Federal HIV/AIDS information through a variety of new media channels, and supports the use of new media tools by Federal and community partners to improve domestic HIV programs serving minority and other communities most at-risk for, or living with, HIV.
HHS Toolkit of Public Health Emergency Text MessagesA new toolkit of prepared cell phone text messages advising people how to protect their health after a disaster is available now through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. These messages support state and local emergency managers in disaster response and are available online. Messages are limited to 115 characters or fewer including spaces. Emergency responders can use the messages as they are or tailor the messages based on specific local needs. The toolkit currently features text messages relevant to hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. Local and state agencies register their interest in using the toolkit by providing contact information to HHS, so they can receive alerts and updates as the content expands to include health tips for additional types of disasters.

And now, with this product recalls application, you have vital safety information available whenever and wherever you need it – right on your mobile phone. The Consumer Product Safety Commission, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Food and Drug Administration, and Department of Agriculture monitor the safety of thousands of products and issue hundreds of recall announcements each year of millions of products.

This mobile application provides results right on your phone along with links to healthy weight resources on the NHLBI Web site.

REMMRadiation Emergency Medicine Management (REMM): Provide guidance for health care providers, primarily physicians, about clinical diagnosis and treatment of radiation injury during radiological and nuclear emergencies; Provide just-in-time, evidence-based, usable information with sufficient background and context to make complex issues understandable to those without formal radiation medicine expertise; Provide web-based information that is also downloadable in advance, so that it would be available during an event if the internet is not accessible.
Treatment Locator (STL) Mobile ApplicationThe SAMHSA Treatment Locator app takes the four treatment locators that are already featured on SAMHSA.gov (Mental Health Services, Substance Abuse, Buprenorphine, and Opioid), combines all of their databases, and allows people to search for treatment centers anywhere they wish using their iPhone or iPad.
mCARE

The "m" in mCare stands for mobile. The mCare platform allows care coordination for Warriors in Transition utilizing an encrypted, bi-directional messaging system. The system conveys information directly to a HIPAA compliant application installed on the soldier's personal cell phone. Messages sent through mCare currently include: appointment reminders, unit announcements; health and wellness tips, and resource messages. Because of the scalability of mCare messages can be pushed out to all users, specific regions and units or individual users.

An educational program of the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition (HMHB), text4baby provides pregnant women and new moms with information they need to take care of their health and give their babies the best possible start in life. Women who sign up for the service by texting BABY (or BEBE for Spanish) to 511411 will receive free SMS text messages each week, timed to their due date or baby’s date of birth.
