The Broadcasting Board of Governors is an independent federal agency, supervising all U.S. government-supported, civilian international broadcasting.
The BBG staff operates as an extension of the Board to carry out Board decisions and oversight for all of U.S. international broadcasting. It provides the Board with technical, professional, and administrative support as well as strategic guidance and management of selected agency programs.

The International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) provides transmission services for all the broadcasters under the Broadcasting Board of Governors. It is the administrative and marketing arm of the Agency. IBB encompasses the Voice of America and the Office of Cuba Broadcasting, which oversees Radio/TV Martí.
