UGSP - Renewal Application for Matriculants - Recommendation Letter

Dear Reference,

You have been identified as a reference for a current NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP) scholar.  The NIH UGSP offer competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds that are committed to careers in the biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research.

Your letter of recommendation is very important in our renewal process for current matriculates.  We would particularly appreciate your comments on the student's overall intelligence, analytical ability, research ability, verbal and writing skills, interpersonal skills, motivation, and maturity. Your overall analysis of the student's potential to excel as a future scientist and fulfillment of all program requirements would be especially helpful.

Letters of recommendation are due by the application deadline: July 25, 2012.

To access the online recommendation form please complete the following steps:

Once the above steps are complete, you should have access to the online evaluation and recommendation form.  The evaluation form uses the following scale:

  • 5 = Exceptional - Top 1%
  • 4 = Excellent - Top 10%
  • 3 = Above Average - Top 25%
  • 2 = Average - Top 50%
  • 1 = Below Average

The text boxes can be expanded to accept longer responses; use the icon in the right corner to expand the text box.
