Series/Uniform Title Keyword

Use Series/Uniform Title Keyword to search for any word (in any order) or phrase found in established series or uniform title headings, crossing subfields. Use this type of search when the exact order of the words in the heading is NOT known.

Series/Uniform Title Keyword finds any word
within a series or uniform title heading.
Name/Title Keyword screen

Search for SERIES TITLES that individual issues have in common. For example, Caledonian structures in Britain and Karst and caves of Great Britain are titles in the series: Geological conservation review series. Other examples of series titles include: Time-Life student library; Virago modern classics; and, Kieler historische Studien

Search for UNIFORM TITLES that bring together the many manifestations (editions, translations, etc.) of anonymous works. For example, Beowulf,
Chanson de Roland, and Gilgamesh. Some UNIFORM TITLES supplied in the catalog bring together similar works. The best example is the Bible and its many parts: Bible. N.T. Acts; Bible. N.T. Colossians; Bible. N.T. Corinthians, 1st; Bible. N.T. Corinthians, 2nd; and, Bible. N.T. Ephesians.

NOTE:
Search limits are NOT available.

Uniform Title Search Results

Search Tips:

  • Enter words or phrases in any order.
  • All words will be searched (including articles and conjunctions in all languages, such as and, or, not, the, a, la, das, etc.).
  • Enclose words in " " (quotation marks) to retrieve the exact phrase (e.g., "san joaquin estuary")
  • Use a ? (question mark) to replace multiple characters either inside or at the end of a search term (e.g., ecumen? will retrieve ecumenical, ecumenism, etc.).
  • Use a % (percent sign) to replace a single character, either inside or at the end of a search term (e.g., col%r will retrieve color, coler and colur, but not colour).
  • Search results are returned as a Headings List. Each row of the Headings List display lists a heading with the number of title hits matching that heading. Selecting the heading will display a Titles List for all titles matching that heading.

Alternative Search Options:

Use Guided Search and limit the search to either the Series (KSER) or the Uniform Title (KTUT) index using the drop-down menu.

Use the browser's [Back] button to resume searching.
