COMMERCE'S NTIA TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING ON TRANSITION OF THE INTERNET DNS TO PRIVATE SECTOR
Printer-friendly versionWashington, DC - The Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) will host a public meeting on Wednesday July 26 to get input from interested stakeholders on the transition of the technical coordination and management of the Internet Domain Name and Addressing System to the private sector.
The meeting will consist of two panels, each moderated by NTIA, with each participant giving a presentation followed by questions and answers from the moderator and from the floor.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Acting NTIA Administrator John Kneuer. Mr. Kneuer also will moderate the first panel, "DNS Privatization: Are the MOU principles relevant and the tasks completed?" NTIA Senior Policy Advisory Meredith Attwell Baker will moderate the second panel, "Measuring Success: Do stakeholders believe ICANN is fully sustainable?"
