U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton visited Guangzhou on Sept. 17 and 18 following earlier stops in Beijing and Shanghai.

GUANGZHOU, China - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton visited Guangzhou on Sept. 17 and 18 following earlier stops in Beijing and Shanghai.

While in Guangzhou, Director Morton and his delegation met with counterparts at the Public Security Bureau to express his thanks for their support, assistance and cooperation in addressing cases of mutual concern such as commercial fraud and alien smuggling.

Director Morton also toured a U.S.-invested factory and a local market to learn about intellectual property rights protection.  Director Morton addressed members of the American business community during a reception hosted for him by the south China American Chamber of Commerce, and he met with U.S. Consulate Guangzhou ICE staff members as well as U.S. Consul General Brian L. Goldbeck.
